Black Garlic – Mar de Tapas
-
Modern
We particularly enjoy variety and a sense of personality, which is why we’re drawn to this laid-back, industrial-style restaurant where everything revolves around casual yet meticulously prepared fish tapas. Located in the heart of the Colegiales neighborhood, the overall atmosphere here is unique and fun. The decor features a large steel scaffolding-style bar counter (the tables are similar), colorful maritime-inspired murals, and, in the center of the room, a curing cabinet designed to add more flavor and new textures to some of the ingredients used here (sea bass, mullet, bream, bluefish, pollock, palometa, etc.). One of the most popular and successful appetizers here is the Pan Bao with panko-crusted shrimp, wasabi mayo, and grape pickles, although the potato risotto with marinated fish and sesame (in which rice is replaced by tiny pieces of potato) is also a highly original option.
