Bis Bistro

  • Contemporary

Few places in Buenos Aires are as unique as Bis Bistró, located in a charming passageway lined with shops that inevitably brings to mind the romantic alleyways so typical of Paris. This bistro, which could be described as the younger sibling of the renowned Aramburu (located across the street—chef Gonzalo Aramburu runs both), has a classic ambiance that comes as a pleasant surprise, having retained its 1950s-style bistro essence and appearance (high ceilings, globe lamps, long banquettes, mirrors, etc.) alongside a glass-fronted kitchen and a small bar. The reasonably contemporary à la carte menu (potato omelet, fresh capers and anchovies, rack of Patagonian lamb, pavlova with seasonal fruits, etc.) aims to recreate delicious recipes with traditional roots and modern flavors, complemented by a two- or three-course “executive” lunch menu on weekdays. The background music here is particularly pleasant.
