Destino Sushi & Wok

Located in the charming setting of José Ignacio, Punta del Este, this restaurant stands out for its focus on responsible, high-quality seafood cuisine. Drawing on the abundance of local seafood, it offers a unique culinary experience that combines the freshness of fish and shellfish with traditional and contemporary cooking techniques. Its relaxed atmosphere, just steps from the coast, invites diners to enjoy a complete sensory experience, where every dish—from delicate sashimi to innovative wok dishes—is carefully crafted to highlight the richness of local flavors.

Destino Sushi began as a personal project with my partner. We decided to buy land in La Juanita, José Ignacio—an area very close to the sea—and we thought it would be an excellent idea to open a sushi restaurant that takes advantage of the abundance of local ingredients. Here, the sea is an incredible source of food, and we wanted to offer a culinary experience that highlights that.

At Destino, we take a very responsible approach to cuisine. We pay special attention to how we handle our ingredients, especially local fish and seafood. We’ve also developed a wok-based cuisine that complements our menu very well. According to our customers, what stands out the most is our commitment to quality. Nothing is left to chance; every detail is carefully considered.
