For more than 50 years, Špacapanova Hiša has been a bastion of Karst cuisine. Run by the Špacapan family since 1973, the restaurant’s current success is largely due to their son and talented director, Ago, who has raised the culinary standards to a higher level. Regional dishes are prepared with local ingredients. Depending on the season, be sure to try the lamb and goat—both raised in the Karst region and oven-roasted—served with cow’s milk curd ravioli. Karst traditions are also kept alive in the winery, where you can sample wines, hams, and cheeses aged on-site. If you’d like to extend your stay, the restaurant also offers rooms, some of which have been recently renovated with period furniture."
