Gostilna na Gradu

The name "Gostilna na Gradu" (the "castle restaurant") conjures up tourist images, but this restaurant goes beyond expectations. Although it is located in the inner courtyard of the city's most visited and emblematic monument, dishes are prepared here with carefully selected Slovenian ingredients and masterfully cooked. One of our favorite dishes is beef tongue with onion, which goes beyond its simple description. The tongue is subtly salted, smoked and served thinly sliced ​​with turnip mousse, toasted pumpkin seeds and wild garlic oil, along with stewed sweet and sour onions.
