Damien Hirst's monumental golden woolly mammoth sculpture stands behind the luxurious Faena Hotel. Such magnificence is also reflected in this restaurant, which offers views of this iconic attraction. Pao's oval room features a golden domed ceiling centered on another Hirst statue: a golden unicorn perched on a platform, watching over elegant diners.
To be clear, this place offers much more than just impressive aesthetics, with a short but varied menu that fuses various influences. Many of these are Asian, as in the scallop aguachile with pineapple and black lime, or the bao with smoked Wagyu ribs with XO aioli. Roasted black sea bass with chili patis and ginger-garlic rice offers a balance of sweet, salty and spicy, providing a comforting dining experience every time.
